16-Foot Albino Python Found After Months on the Loose

Snakes can be quite terrifying creatures, especially when they’re huge and on the loose. A 16-foot albino python was finally discovered and returned to its rightful owner after being missing for more than five months.

The Austin Animal Center posted about the entire incident on Facebook. The snake’s owner, from the Dallas area, said the albino reticulated python was in a tote that was stolen from his car during a break-in while he was visiting Austin several months ago.

After five months, the AAC finally received a call from a group of Austin residents that were looking to report that they had captured the reptile. The snake, named Snow, had been seen by neighbors slithering around their neighborhood since July 2022.

“Due to the temperatures the snake was lethargic enough that a couple of residents were able to catch it and keep it in their garage,” the AAC wrote.

Luckily, Snow spent a day at the Austin Zoo and was deemed fit enough to be reunited with its owner.
