Artist Creates Miniaturized Wooden Hockey Stick

Miniaturized objects have become a growing trend over the last few years, with people falling in love with the tinier versions of their favorite items. An Indian artist who specializes in creating miniature objects wanted to find a way to celebrate the Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 being held in the country.

Satya Narayan Maharana carved a pair of miniature wooden hockey sticks with one measuring in at .39 inches tall and .039 inches wide, while the other measures .196 inches tall and .039 inches wide. It’s a pretty impressive feat for something to be created by hand that’s so small.

Maharana did confirm that he plans on applying to have the smaller of the two sticks certified as the world’s smallest hockey stick by Guinness World Records.

The artist said he created the tiny sticks in celebration of the Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023, which began on January 13, 2023, being held in the Indian state of Odisha. “As Odisha is hosting Hockey World Cup this year, being an artist it would be my way of wishing luck to all the hockey players,” Maharana said.
