Babies have been born in all types of unusual locations but there’s one that might just be the most rock ‘n’ roll arrival yet: a Metallica concert.
Joice M Figueiró gave birth to her son Luan Figueiró at a Metallica show in Curitiba, Brazil. She was 39 weeks pregnant at the time and sitting in a special area at a Metallica concert when her contractions first began.
Joice bought the tickets to the show almost three years ago and knew she needed to see the show regardless of how pregnant she was. With just three songs to go, Joice was supposed to be taken to the hospital but it was already too late. According to his mother, the sweet sounds of Enter Sandman are what brought Luan into the world.
The new mom posted details of her son’s unusual birthplace on Instagram with the band sharing the news on their Instagram Stories. She wrote: “When would I imagine that I would be at the Metallica show at 39 weeks pregnant and this boy decides to be born right there, 3 songs before the show ends, at Couto Pereira to the sound of Enter Sandman?
“In every show I go to something has to happen, but this time I think I’ve outdone myself. Luan Figueiró came into the world on 05/07/2022 at 23:15 shaking all metal structures.
She had originally joked the little boy’s name would be James Ulrich after the Metallica frontman James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich.
Joice has since received many well-wishes from people all over the world. “I’m great physically and trying to understand how this happened. Thank you for everyone’s love and concern,” she said.
