Bears have to eat too and if they can get their meals rather conveniently, who’s going to deny them? A North Carolina woman had a package of bagels stolen right off her front porch by a hungry black bear.
Mary McClear captured the entire incident on her doorbell camera. McClear normally leaves a box of snacks on her porch for delivery drivers during this time of year and had recently received a bagel package, which apparently caught the attention of the curious bear.
Lured onto her Hendersonville porch in the middle of the night by the smell of bagels, the bear sniffed around a bit before it found what it was looking for. The footage shows the animal taking snacks from the treat box before fleeing with the entire box of bagels.
McClear said the package was filled with bagels, cream cheese and salmon sent to her by a friend in New York City. Sounds like the perfect late-night snack for a bear.
