Burger King Cheeseburger Battery

Having an argument in a public space really isn’t exactly the best place. A couple got into an argument at a Burger King in Florida where a man threw a cheeseburger at his girlfriend.

James Hunt argued with his “girlfriend and cohabitant” about “the victim not eating her food” at a Burger King in Clearwater. Instead of eating, the 53-year-old woman began to leave the restaurant. According to authorities, that’s when Hunt “threw a cheeseburger at the victim, striking her in the back of the head. This action caused the victim to fall over a curb onto the ground.”

The victim’s chin and lip smacked against the pavement, leaving an abrasion and a cut as a result. There was also blood on the victim’s shirt and shorts, as well as cheese on her shirt and in her hair. A Burger King employee told police that before Hunt walked away from the restaurant, he hit the victim in the head while she was already on the ground.

The 41-year-old “admitted to throwing the burger at the victim” but denied hitting her while she was down. Hunt also told investigators that he didn’t think the cheeseburger strike “caused her to slip on the curb and fall onto the ground.”

Hunt is being charged with felony domestic battery and is being held in the county jail on a $15,000 bond. He’s also been ordered by a judge to have no contact with the victim. Hunt has two prior domestic battery convictions before this incident.
