Celebrate the Taste of Summer With Broccoli

Broccoli isn’t usually the first thing people think of when they hear the word summer. The company Tenderstem is trying to change that with the help of Lyme Bay Winery.

Tenderstem is known for producing the tender alternative to regular broccoli and they’ve decided to create the U.K.’s very first Tenderstem wine-based tipple, which mixes Chardonnay with the distinctive notes of Tenderstem.

The product, aptly called Tendernay, is set to hit shelves across the country at the end of June 2022 as a way to try to get more Brits to eat their veggies.

To create this monstrosity, Tenderstem uses hundreds of their own stalks, which have been intricately infused with award-winning grapes to give the beverage a unique flavor profile. Each bottle is mixed with 2019 Chardonnay from Lyme Bay Winery.

“Tenderstem broccoli is a British suppertime favourite, and we continue to pride ourselves on its nutty, succulent flavour.

“So, what better way to use its iconic notes and flavours and launch our very own Tenderstem tipple? With the iconic English Wine Week upcoming, it felt like the right time to celebrate the nation’s trendiest vegetable, alongside wines created from our very own soil,” said David Samuels, a spokesman at Tenderstem.
