Company Creates $100 Eraser

Even the best writers make mistakes sometimes and when those do happen, having a reliable eraser on hand is essential. A Japanese eraser company has created the ultimate product, releasing a five-pound version of their normal eraser line.

The Radar S-10000 measures 10.86 x 5.55 x 1.69 inches and weighs over five pounds, making it one of the largest commercially available erasers. It was created by the Japanese eraser maker Seed, which was founded in 1915.

The Radar line launched in 1968 and has since become the company’s most popular product line. To celebrate the eraser’s smooth texture and flawless erasing performance, they crafted the five-pound massive eraser and have been selling it for $100.

The idea came from an original giveaway, creating larger models of their elite products. After making two large eraser models, the company opted for something even bigger. The first Radar S-10000 was meant to be a prize for the company’s annual “Eraser Quick Eraser Contest.” However, the prize was so well received that Seed decided to turn it into a commercially-available product.

Despite being around for a while, the S-10000 has recently gone viral in Japan, being featured on Twitter and on YouTube channels. The company has even thanked fans for helping raise awareness about the product.
