When you’re trying to run from an incident that you caused, it’s best to have a secure plan in place. A couple who fled the scene of a car crash took to a nearby restaurant to hide inside as police searched for them. Things took a turn when one of them ended up falling through the roof of the building.
The incident began around 7:30 a.m. on May 11, 2023, when the couple in their SUV ran a red light and T-boned another vehicle at Interstate 10 and Hildebrand Avenue in San Antonio, Texas. Instead of waiting to get caught, the pair ran to a nearby restaurant, sat down and ordered tacos.
While they were waiting for their food, the restaurant received a call from police with a description of the couple. They reported to the officers that the suspects were inside their establishment and when police arrived, the couple tried to run and hide.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, the man went into a utility closet and climbed up into the attic space. As he was crawling up, the support fell through and fell into the men’s restroom. The woman was also discovered hiding in the restroom and was promptly arrested.
The investigation is ongoing and both the suspect’s names and ages have not yet been released.
