Cow Gets Rescued Twice in 24 Hours

Animals sometimes find themselves in interesting situations where they need assistance from humans. One cow had to be rescued twice in the span of 24 hours by fire and rescue experts in New South Wales, Australia.

The first time the cow caused trouble was when it was found running around a shopping center in the Caddens area. Officials from the St. Mary’s Fire Station attempted to stop the animal and with the help of police, they managed to capture the cow. It was taken to West Sydney University for the night.

The plan didn’t exactly go according to plan as it was found stuck in the mud on campus grounds. The mud was so high it reached the animal’s stomach.

Firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW and Ropes Crossing Fire Station worked together to get the brown and white cow out of the mud. They used a fire hose as a lasso and hauled the cow from the thick mud pit.

At one point, the fire crew was able to get the cow pulled out before it fell right back in again. Luckily, the crews were able to get the cow out safely. “The crew, concerned about the cow’s exhaustion levels and inability to stand, stayed with the animal until she recovered from the ordeal,” a spokesperson said.
