Criminal Trio Robs Liquor Store While Employee Gambles

Slacking on the job can set the perfect stage for three criminals to carry out their robbing plans.

Grand Island Police were in the middle of an investigation involving three males who stole thousands of dollars from a liquor store. Captain Jim Duering said the employee reports three men with face masks entering the store with armed weapons.

The men stole $3,127.83 from the cash register and an extra $750 from the office desk. They tried to take the card reader from the register but they weren’t able to do so.

The armed men didn’t need to fire any bullets from the handgun. An employee was busy entertaining himself with a little gambling on the job. “The single employee was playing the Bankshot machine and was not behind the registers,” Duering added. “So they didn’t really point it at him. They just went past him, went to the register, opened it up and took the money.”

The police haven’t been able to catch the suspects yet. One man’s boredom added to the savings of three other men.
