As global warming increases, temperatures are getting warmer all around the world. A homeopathic doctor from India has devised a solution to keep his car cool against the heat: cover it with cow poop.
Sushil Sagar, who works at the Khurai Civil Hospital explained his bizarre approach. “It often happens in summer that the sheet on top of the car draws heat and increases the temperature inside the car. By applying cow dung coating, the inside temperature of the car does not rise. The heat that is felt while sitting inside the car during summer is avoided with this.”
Sagar also added that because his car remains cool thanks to the layer of cow feces, the air conditioning actually works more efficiently. On average, he estimates that the cow dung coating can last around two months if water doesn’t disturb it at all.
A video of Sagar’s approach to beating the heat went viral online but many were unconvinced by the trick. One person wrote: “Heights of nonsense.”
A different user tried to shed more light on the approach. “I don’t know if it will work on car but in villages, we have been using cow dung for many years on walls which cools the inner temperature of the house,” they commented.
