Driver Crashes While Watching “Stranger Things”

No one wants to be behind on the latest season drop but watching television and driving probably isn’t the smartest thing to do. A teenage driver learned her lesson after she got in a car accident while watching the Netflix show, Stranger Things.

According to Minnesota police, the teen drifted into the oncoming lane and collided with a semi truck. Thankfully, she walked away with only minor injuries in the rollover crash.

Investigators said the teenager was driving in a Minneapolis suburb when her vehicle crossed “the centerline directly into the path of the semi truck.” According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses reported that “the female’s vehicle was fully in the oncoming lane before the crash.”

The driver of the semi managed to swerve onto the road’s shoulder to avoid a head-on collision. They most likely saved the teen’s life with that move.

The teenager’s car hit the semi’s trailer, which caused it to roll over. Despite her vehicle suffering significant damage, she only received minor injuries from the accident.

Originally, during police questioning, the driver denied being on her phone at the time of the crash. Deputies noted that the auto’s Bluetooth system “was still streaming the audio to Stranger Things on Netflix.” That’s when the teenager cracked and “admitted to watching Netflix while driving.”

The teenager did end up getting cited for watching a video on her phone while driving. Next time, just wait until getting home to watch the next episode.
