A Burmese python found in Florida was killed and the story didn’t end there. When people explored the contents of its body, people were left shocked by the discovery. The python died with a full stomach when a whole alligator was found inside the dissected snake.
An Instagram video released by scientist Rosie K Moore shows a massive snake that’s approximately 18 feet long being sliced open with a five-foot-long alligator being pulled out of it. The hungry snake swallowed the alligator whole before going down.
Moore states that Burmese pythons found in Florida legally have to be killed, as they’re an invasive species which poses a threat to local wildlife. She wrote: “Due to the subtropical environment of South Florida, paired with the Burmese pythons long life span and rapid reproduction, these snakes have successfully invaded ecologically sensitive areas such as Everglades National Park. This poses a threat to a variety of wildlife, due to the pythons wide dietary preferences.”
It’s not hard to understand the reasons behind her argument. Moore’s evidence to back up the claims was found inside the dead python.
Although the Burmese python isn’t known to be poisonous, its flexible jaws allow them to swallow large creatures. So the wildlife may not be bitten to death but they still have a good chance of becoming the snake’s supper.
