Snakes often find themselves slithering into trouble when they escape from their homes. Firefighters in Florida had to assist a driver who found a python in the engine compartment of their truck.
The unusual emergency started when Engine 14 from the Fort Myers Fire Department was returning to its station after a medical call. The crew was flagged down by a driver who explained that there was a python in the engine compartment of their truck
The Fort Myers Fire Department posted about the incident on Facebook with the caption: “City Python Cowboys.” The firefighters were able to safely remove the snake from the engine compartment. They also made sure to notify the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission of their discovery.
The snake was identified as a ball python by experts. Department officials are leaning toward the likelihood of the animal being an escaped pet.
