When getting pulled over, most try to stay calm in front of unpredictable police officers. In this instance, a Florida man floored it away from a traffic stop after police already reviewed his documents to find nothing wrong.
Christopher Jesus Nogueras was pulled over in his white BMW for a minor traffic violation. After the responding officer ran a report and reviewed Nogueras’ documents, he spotted nothing out of the ordinary. When the officer returned his documents, Nogueras was clearly in a rush to get out of there, flooring it back onto the road in front of the officer.
Completely shocked by what he just witnessed, the Cape Coral officer reentered their vehicle to inform dispatch they were pursuing the same white BMW they had just released. Nogueras was followed cruising through a residential area twenty miles over the speed limit and disregarding multiple stop signs in an effort to elude the authorities.
Nogueras eventually lost control of his vehicle near a highway so he decided to continue the rest of the chase on foot. However, before the officer had a chase to switch from car to foot, Nogueras decided he had had enough.
The officer was able to secure the handcuffs and place Nogueras under arrest. Nogueras now faces charges of reckless driving and leaving the scene of a crash. He was also cited for running two stop signs and one red light.
