Selling illegal substances in another group’s area can be a dangerous feat but so is selling hot dogs. A hot dog vendor was arrested for stabbing a rival in an alleged turf war.
San Diego police were called to a brawl involving ten to 15 people outside of Petco Park, the home of the San Diego Padres. The beef started when hot dog vendors from Los Angeles decided to try to sell some of their food at the stadium.
The L.A. vendors got into it with the local San Diego squad resulting in a 21-year-old hot dog vendor stabbing a rival. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other serious injuries were reported.
According to Lieutenant Robert Stinson, to break up the crowd, San Diego police deployed pepper spray. This is a common method the department uses to disperse rowdy and unruly crowds engaged in hostile activity.
