“Innerspace” is a marvel of practical special effects, as disgraced Navy test pilot Dennis Quaid is the subject of an experimental miniaturization project, but instead of being injected into a laboratory rabbit, he is injected into an anxiety-riddled hypochondriac grocery clerk, played by Martin Short. With the help of Quaid’s estranged investigative reporter girlfriend Meg Ryan, they’ve got to recover a stolen microchip before Dennis Quaid runs out of air.
