Johnny Cash is making headlines in his Arkansas hometown after springing a leak thanks to a perfectly placed bullet hole in the town’s water tower.
A bullet hit the town’s 50,000-gallon tank right where it hurts on the Johnny Cash silhouette that’s painted on the side of the structure.
“Somebody shot our water tower, shot the silhouette of Johnny Cash in a very sensitive area,” Kingsland Mayor Luke Neal said.
The town is losing about 30,000 gallons of water with a daily cost of $200, which is a lot for the small town of 500 residents. The cost of the repair job will be around $5,000, which involves draining the tower.
Despite the damages, the urinating man in black is actually drawing tourists into the area to witness the bizarre scene. The video and images of Cash letting loose have gone viral online, which has people driving from all over to witness the leaking tower firsthand.
“Just the placement of where it was at, I mean it was — you could tell someone was trying to be funny,” Neal said.
The water tower has previously leaked from a bullet hole back in 1993. An investigation has been opened to figure out who created the most recent bullet hole.
