It’s certainly not every day that you spot a kangaroo wandering around a road in the United States. Authorities in a Missouri county confirmed that there was a kangaroo roaming around a road in the area at the time.
Jefferson County Services Director Eric Larson reported that the animal was spotted near High Ridge road. Despite it being a wildlife issue, animal control was not contacted regarding the incident.
At least one local resident captured the kangaroo on camera while it was wandering around the area. Leaving her High Ridge driveway, Julia Hidemann met her new, rather exotic, neighbor and made sure to take a video of the encounter.
Authorities originally believed that the kangaroo may have escaped from S and S Farms Exotic Petting Zoo in High Ridge. Officials with the petting zoo did confirm that the kangaroo seen on the loose was theirs. The kangaroo named Rueben was safely returned to the facility after only a short time on the loose.
