Man Accidentally Calls 911 While Playing Video Games

People can get lost in the highly immersive world of video games, which can limit their sense of reality to the outside world. A man that was so engrossed in a video game accidentally called 911 and ended up yelling “I killed two people” while on the phone.

Elijah was playing a round of Rainbow Six Siege at his home when he unintentionally dialed 911 and yelled the words “I killed two people.” The emergency line mistook the unintentional call for a double homicide and a unit was sent to the man’s home.

Security camera footage of the incident was posted on social media, which shows Elijah stepping out of his home with his hands raised near the front door of his residence. Royal Canadian Mounted Police had their rifles at the man before Elijah was allowed to walk over and explain the situation.

The officers continued to inquire about his home and even asked if there was anyone present inside with him. “I was playing the game when I dialed the phone. That was my fault. No, no, it’s just me at home,” Elijah said in the video.

Someone claiming to be Elijah’s friend posted the same video on TikTok and said that the police searched his entire house. The video has since gone popular on multiple social media platforms.
