There has been a surge of poultry-related crimes in the U.S. and people seem to be taking out their frustrations by using the meat as a weapon to settle disputes.
Sibling rivalry never gets old; Tommy Bouwell, a 59-year-old man from Louisiana, is locked up after smacking his brother in the head with a frozen bag of chicken.
Bouwell assaulted his brother inside a shared mobile home in West Monroe. According to the victim’s statement, Bouwell became angry with him after he questioned the two broken windows outside of their home. Rather than providing an explanation for the shattered glass, Bouwell let the hands do the talking by throwing things at the brother.
A cold heart was met with an assortment of frozen foods. The victim explained that Bouwell “grabbed a bag of frozen chicken out of the freezer and struck him in the side of the head.” Bouwell’s rage wasn’t satisfied with a single poultry attack, as he grabbed other frozen foods to throw at his brother.
The victim turned down the medical assistance, he was more keen on getting his brother behind bars. He got his revenge by pressing criminal charges against Bouwell on a misdemeanor battery count and Bouwell was later arrested in lieu of a $500 bond.
Bouwell’s rap sheet includes collars for “aggravated assault, domestic abuse, disturbing the peace, and theft.” He faces the consequences of his violent actions since there’s nothing peaceful about dead flying chickens.
