Man Climbs Tree to Escape Angry Moose

In certain parts of Canada, seeing a moose is an everyday occurrence but that doesn’t mean that they blend into the background. An Alberta man was forced to climb up a tree when he came across an aggressive moose in his neighborhood.

David Meredith was taking an evening stroll in his Anders on the Lake neighborhood in Red Deer when he noticed a moose nearby. Instead of staying where it was, the animal decided to stand its ground.

“He ended up doing a bluff charge,” Meredith said. “So I took that opportunity to scream like a little girl and run up that tree.”

Meredith posted a video of the moose once he reached a safe branch, uploading the footage to Facebook. In the video, the moose can be seen attempting to use its antlers to shake the branches of the tree to force Meredith out of hiding.

“He was grunting and had every intention to trample me by the looks of things,” Meredith said.

After around 10 or 15 minutes, Meredith said the moose finally left the area, allowing him to climb down from the tree and walk home in one piece.
