Bagels are usually pretty heavy foods that are often eaten every once in a while. A man that entered an eating contest didn’t the luxury to take his time when he devoured 18 bagels for the competition’s top prize.
The Siegel’s Bagelmania Eating Contest in Las Vegas, Nevada, is held every year for National Bagel Day. The competition is for epic bagel lovers to come together to see how many bagels one can eat in a single sitting.
Geoffrey Esper took home the top prize this year after nearly eating 18 bagels in eight minutes. He not only set a world record with his eating but he also took home a staggering $7,500 in cash prizes, all for eating the most bagels.
“They were tough to eat,” Esper said. “But that’s the type of bagel I like, with the nice crispy outside and they put a little bit of cream cheese on it. I thought it was delicious.” Delicious indeed, where do we sign up?
