Man Orders Pizza With BBQ Sauce as Only Topping

Ever order a pizza and it arrives without the correct toppings? A chunk of the time, the pizza restaurant is at fault but in this case, one man thought he was adding toppings to his order instead of removing them.

After a typical late night, there’s nothing better than ordering a greasy pizza to finish off the evening. A man did just that, craving a BBQ Meat Feast from the pizza chain Papa John’s. The BBQ Meat Feast features a BBQ base topped with mozzarella cheese, bacon, ham, pepperoni, sausage, and spicy beef.

Having too many brews over the span of the night, the man opened the customization menu in the delivery app and removed every single topping, including the cheese, thinking he was adding them to his pizza.

When the order arrived, he was completely shocked to find the pizza crust with a layer of BBQ sauce as his customized pizza.

Along with his delicious BBQ-flavored pizza dough, the man decided to treat himself to some Garlic Pizza Sticks and three Special Garlic dips. Naturally, he had removed the Special Garlic dip that normally comes with his pizza.

The man posted on Reddit to share his unusual delivery order with the internet. The post read: “Shoutout to Papa John’s for honouring my post-pub late night order of accidentally removing every item on a BBQ meat feast, thinking I was adding them.”

Users shared their own experiences with customized food on the original Reddit post.

One user wrote: “Man, I loved the weird s**t people would request sometimes when I worked there. This would have confused me but would’ve been funny.

“One time someone requested a pizza with only green toppings on it, all of our green toppings (sauce included) which really excited our pizza maker lady. S**t came out of the oven neon green somehow.”

A spokesperson for Papa John’s said: “At Papa Johns, we encourage our customers to personalize their pizzas using the customization tool, and no matter what the request – from pineapple on their pizza to a BBQ base with absolutely no toppings – we’ll always deliver. Although we’re not sure this one is something we’ll be adding to the main menu anytime soon…”
