Having a good getaway vehicle is ideal for any crime. It’s best to not take notes from this man, who tried escaping from authorities using a lawnmower.
Dusty Mobley has been on the run from officers since January 2022. In his latest escape attempt, he tried to use his John Deere riding lawn mower to get away from authorities. This time, he was captured and arrested after deputies used a taser to stop him.
The 40-year-old Florida resident was told to stop and get on the ground by deputies before the used a taser to temporarily immobilize him from going any further. Mobley was taken into custody where deputies discovered a revolver, a handcuff key and a pipe that contained methamphetamine residue.
Mobley is no stranger to evading the cops. In January 2022, he was approached by officers when they tried to talk to him about a $40,000 stolen boat. Mobley dove into a swamp along the Yellow River to avoid going to jail.
He wasn’t as lucky this time. Mobley was charged with grand theft, grand theft of a vehicle, felony criminal mischief, two counts of resisting an officer, possession of a concealed weapon by a felon, carrying a concealed handcuff key, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony failure to appear among others. He was held without bond at the Okaloosa County Jail.
