Man Who Raps About Robbing ATMs Gets Caught in the Act

If you’re going to commit a crime, it’s probably best that you don’t share that information. A group of people allegedly robbed an ATM technician as he was servicing a Bank of America machine and later went on to boast about their accomplishments.

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD), the four individuals who were arrested were all from the Houston, Texas, area. The thieves were arrested when they checked out of a Motel 6 in Dickson.

The accused are Darius Dugas, 27, Sashondre Dugas, 32, Christopher Alton, 27, and Ladesion Riley, 30. The robbery went as planned when two of the defendants approached the bank technician from behind, informing him not to do anything stupid. The detectives on the case were able to find one of the getaway cars had been rented by Hertz.

Of course, there was also the fact that one of the accused rapped about their antics. Riley, who uses a stage name on YouTube, shared a music video called “Make it Home”. In the video, he raps about frequently robbing ATMs out of state. The lyrics describe having thousands of dollars in their vehicle, praying to avoid the chase. Not exactly being subtle.

“If you’re going to rap about it, then turn around and be about it and get caught, that’s on you. You shouldn’t do stupid crap, and you definitely shouldn’t violate the law and talk about it,” said Douglas Griffith, President of the Houston Police Officers’ Union.

Authorities parked at the Motel 6 where the group was situated and watched as they loaded what appeared to be cash into a Jeep. The vehicles were eventually pulled over and the crew was taken into custody without incident. Cash was recovered on the scene and the four are being charged federally for potentially committing similar crimes.
