Ordering a specialized cake for someone on their birthday is a nice gesture but what if it goes horribly wrong? A man attempted to make a joke about his friend’s name but the cake decorator took the request a little too literally.
The friend wrote out the message they wanted to feature on the cake while they stuck in a joke in the same box thinking that the baker would not include it on the cake but that didn’t end up being the case. Wanting to get a rectangular butter icing-topped sponge personalized for a ‘Matt’, the man ended up getting “Happy Birthday Dick. Ha ha ha. Don’t write that, his name is Matt” written on the cake instead.
A photo of the cake was posted on Twitter and gave everyone the laugh they needed. Many poked fun at the accidental insult, with one person writing: “That’s taking the word literally to a new level.”
Another user chuckled: “Literally sent this to my brother Matthew on his birthday,” while a third added: “As long as the cakes are nice who cares if there’s a Dick on it.”
