Mayo-Heavy Sandwich Leads to Shooting

An incorrect sandwich order is nothing to get worked up about. A Subway customer had other feelings about that matter when he began shooting two employees after they put too much mayonnaise on his sandwich.

A 36-year-old man was arrested by police after a shooting left one woman dead and another in critical condition. The shooting took place at a Circle K gas station in Atlanta, Georgia, just after 6:30 p.m. The Atlanta Police Department responded to the call.

Authorities said that the woman who was killed was 26-years-old. A 24-year-old employee named Jada Statum was hit twice after she pushed her son under the counter to keep him from getting hurt. A co-owner of the Subway said that a third worker actually shot at the gunman.

“There was something wrong with the sandwich that made him so upset that he decided to take his anger out on the two employees here,” officers said. Police also mentioned that the person with the gun clearly didn’t know how to resolve conflict without using violence.

“It just breaks my heart, to know that someone has the audacity to point a weapon, and shoot someone for as little as too much mayonnaise on a sandwich,” one of the co-owners, Willie Glenn said. He confirmed that the shooter had been in the store before as well.
