Mechanic Hit by Metal Bar Twice in Car Shop

Getting a “double shot” from the bar usually refers to something else entirely. In this instance, a Brazilian man accidentally hit his father-in-law in the head twice with a falling bar.

In the hilarious footage that was shared on Twitter, culprit André Luiz can be seen resting a metal bar against the half-open shutter of the RR Motopeças workshop in Santa Cruz, Rio de Janeiro, before walking away. While this is happening, his co-worker and father-in-law Luiz Carlos Niegesk is sitting in a chair on his phone.

As neither man is looking, the bar topples forward, striking the unsuspecting Niegesk in the foot. Reeling from the pain, the injured in-law grabs his foot while Luiz runs over to check on him. As Niegesk takes off his shoe to look at his injuries, Luiz picks up the bar and proceeds to prop it back up in seemingly the exact same place.

Like clockwork, the bar falls over again, this time whacking Niegesk in the back of the head while he’s reaching for his shoe. The timing is truly a work of art and has been referred to by many online as what could pass for a choreographed slapstick routine.

Luiz has since blamed the failure on the metal shutter, which he claimed is “warped so you have to place the bar in exactly the right place otherwise it won’t stay put.” Luckily, Niegesk was fine after the incident.
