Mechanics Discover Bunny Tucked in Car’s Undercarriage

For the staff at Germain BMW of Naples, regular business led to an unusual discovery. “When we were about ready to drain the oil, we noticed that there was a scratching noise from the bottom of the car,” Kyle Fridh, a mechanic, said.

Experienced professionals were even scratching their heads with no clue behind the mystery noise. “Somebody scratching against the wall really fast,” said Fridh, who has over 16 years of experience in the automotive industry.

“I brought out my phone and I see him and I’m like, ‘Oh, he’s in the motor mount area,'” Noah Caprisien said. It turns out, there was a bunny who made himself known when he peeked above the plastic undercarriage of the vehicle near the motor. The staff peeled at the plastic to rescue the trapped bunny, who made it out alive from the tight space.

There is a video of the incident taking place, which the company shared on Instagram.

The car owner had no idea that there was another passenger on board. The mechanics believed that the bunny slipped in the motor mount for warmth during the frosty temperatures. The heat from the engine was enough to keep the bunny from wanting to step out.

One by one the plastic pieces came off, and the bunny made it into their hands before jumping to the ground. A fellow mechanic, Wilton, was forced to chase the bunny down as it was trying to escape the strangers. “We didn’t know who was moving faster, the bunny or our employee,” Fridh said.

Wilton managed to get a hold of the bunny and it was released outside the door into the mulch. It’s not a rare occurrence but it did give the mechanics an eventful workday with a new animal friend.
