Mysterious House Abandoned on the Road

This one-story house has a missing homeowner who abandoned it in the middle of a Louisiana road.

Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office dealt with the legal matters to locate the owner. According to the reports, “Deputies responded to Berard Road in Loreauville regarding an illegal transport of a house. IPSO deputies arrived to find an abandoned truck, trailer, and house blocking the 400 block.”

Loreauville is a small village in Louisiana with a small population of approximately 900 people. The residents in the area were baffled when an empty house blocked two lanes of the residential road.

The owner of the house, a 46-year-old, was tracked down, and he was aware of the possible charges before the move. The homeowner did receive warnings about the required permits that needed to be granted before transporting the house. He still proceeded despite the warning.

The sheriff’s office said: “Those instructions were ignored during the move down Coteau Holmes Road.”

The man took the area by storm, and he destroyed objects along the way to get rid of the house. According to the police statement: “Many mailboxes, road signs, and trees were damaged in the process as well as, hitting power lines and polls causing 695… customers to be without power for several hours.”

Deputies arrested the man for his reckless, illegal transport of the house. He got charged with violation of parish ordinance, obstruction of highway commerce, and criminal property damage.

His fellow transporter, 32-year-old, was arrested and subject to the same charges. Officials said: “Both men were booked into the Iberia Parish Jail and bond was set at $125,000.00 each. Additional charges are pending.”

Selling the house in the real estate market was too basic for these two gentlemen.
