Being naked leaves people with two options: shop at the mall for discounted clothes or steal another man’s clothes with a machete. The choice is not difficult to make as the latter option is more thrilling than walking through crowded malls.
A naked man in Florida grabbed his machete and headed out to scout for his walking mannequin. Deputies later identified the man as 34-year-old Brandon Wright.
A surveyor working in an area near the Volusia County Fairgrounds witnessed Wright plucking palmetto berries from the woods. He carried on with his task when Wright pulled up next to him with a sizeable machete-style knife and threatened him into handing over his phone, wallet and clothes.
The surveyor listened to his demands and started to hand over his possessions. In a quick impulse to run, Wright threw the machete and berries at him and took off in a white Dodge Challenger. Even though Wright tossed the weapon with great force, the handle bounced off the victim’s chest and left no injuries.
Later in the day, there were reports of Wright seen at a gas station on S. Spring Garden Avenue in DeLand. Law enforcement notified local police officers from a chopper when they spotted Wright from the air.
Wright got a few reps of push-ups in before the cops grabbed him at the entrance and made their arrest. Wright was escorted to Volusia County Branch Jail on “charges of attempted robbery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.”
At least he gets a new set of clothes in prison.
