Paratroops Banned From Deployment Over Orgy

Getting caught in the act doesn’t sound like much fun when your job is on the line. Hundreds of soldiers have been banned from deployment to the Balkans after videos emerged of an orgy that occurred at a military barracks.

As head of the army, General Sir Patrick Sanders had the fun responsibility to write a letter to military leaders saying he would “risk the mission or the reputation of the British army” by sending the soldiers in question overseas.

The soldiers were from the 3rd Battalion Parachute Regiment and will lose out on a medal and extra pay the opportunity would’ve provided. Instead of traveling abroad, they will have time to “reflect on where they have fallen short of what we all expect of our army.”

Eight paratroopers from the regiment were investigated by the Royal Military Police for being filmed while having a consensual orgy with a woman at the Merville barracks in Colchester, Essex. It’s believed that the same woman may have been smuggled into the barracks at least 31 times in a five months span.

Although the RMP determined no crime had been committed, Sanders believed the behaviour of the soldiers would have been seen to “denigrate women.” “Such behaviour is unacceptable, corrosive and detrimental to the army’s reputation.

“My message to the army is clear — our licence to operate is founded on trust and confidence and we must hold ourselves to the highest standards,” he said.

The annual deployment to the Balkans is for a ten-day exercise involving other Nato allies. More than 400 paratroops travel to Bosnia and Kosova for the exercise.
