Philadelphia Restaurant Creates $700 Burger

While dining out can be expensive, your bill might get quite a bit bigger if you opt for this burger covered in gold. That’s right, a Philadelphia restaurant has created a burger covered in gold that costs $700 to purchase.

Instead of finding a cheese stake at the bottom of Drury Beer Garden’s menu, a very, very expensive burger is what you’ll see. For $700, customers can purchase the Gold Standard, a Wagyu meat burger with caviar, fresh black truffle, lobster flambeed with cognac, topped with aged Irish cheddar and drizzled with honey.

Fortunately, fries are included in the price of the eight-ounce burger. Plus, you’ll receive a one-ounce pour of Louis XIII Cognac, which fetches around $5,000 a bottle. It’s the very least they can do.

George Tsiouris, a co-owner of the beer garden, said that he created the Gold Standard to celebrate the joy of cooking. “We are excited to provide our guests some amazing, creative and tasty options with our new menu concept,” he said.
