Police Chase Loose Goat for Over an Hour

When some animals escape from their homes, the recovery is rather quick. In this instance, a goat had police officers running around a Utah community for over an hour in an attempt to capture the animal.

At first, residents in Taylorsville, Utah, were alarmed when they spotted a pile of emergency service vehicles parked in their private community. It turned out, the whole neighborhood was just involved in trying to wrangle a loose goat.

A group made up of police officers, animal control officers and members of the community participated in a chase on January 8, 2023, when a goat ran loose through the area. Emergency responders and volunteers ran after the animal for more than an hour with no luck.

“My officers spent the next two hours trying to wrangle a goat, that obviously missed its calling and should have been in the track and field industry,” Taylorsville Police Sergeant Ryan Carver said.

The goat was originally spotted attempting to break into a home before it was finally wrangled in a resident’s backyard. No injuries occurred to either the goat or anyone involved in the chase.
