Politician States No Population Increase With Early Shop Closures

If political leaders aren’t making any sense, citizens have good reasons to panic about the state of the nation in the hands of questionable individuals. Logic and rational thinking are missing in a viral video on Twitter where Pakistan Defense Minister Khawaja Asif expresses his take on population control. His finding is that “there’s no population increase in countries where markets close at 8 p.m.”

His tone of delivery is hilarious since he seemed confident in a statement that lacks any validity. Sure, markets closing at 8 p.m. might mean less shopping time for condoms but that still gives ample time for baby-making between the sheets.

Naila Inayat shared the video online with the caption: “New research, babies can’t be made after 8 p.m. ‘There’s no population increase in countries where markets close at 8 p.m.,’ defence minister.”

His strange hypothesis lacked any form of evidence or research. The defense minister stated: “The places where markets have closed down by 8 p.m., the population increase is smaller.”

A sheer coincidence doesn’t lead to strong causation and people are in stitches with his bizarre finding. One user wrote: “This is a brilliant finding by the Pak government’s research. It is a genius contribution to humanity. They should be given the highest award of the scientific research field in the world.”

Another person joked: “These guys are way ahead in research it seems! The fortune agencies around the world would pay to lay their hands on this ‘research’ would more than wipe out Pak’s entire balance of payments problem times over. Now, if only someone could demystify it for the plebs.”

A third added: “It’s a miracle this country has survived for so long.”

Cutting the business hours is more likely to shrink the business owner’s paycheque than aid in population control.
