Rebellious Camels Escape Nativity Scene at Church

A group of three camels that were cast members in a nativity scene at a Brisbane church left the church property for a stroll down the road. Cyrus, Morgy and Benjamin were the camels a part of the Bridgeman Baptist Community Church nativity play but the streets were more lively for the active trio.

Escaping isn’t out of the ordinary for these camel friends since they are always up for adventures. Owner Wayne Morris was surprised to receive news that they were nowhere to be found but he also said it was in line with their usual behavior. “They’re always wandering,” he said.

Drivers were caught off guard to see camels take over the roads. They yielded to make room for these big boys. “All the motorists, I give them credit, they were really nice people, they slowed down and yeah,” Morris said.

Cyrus was the leader of the crew who was responsible for breaking out after opening the gate and the other two followed the lead. “They’re herd animals so they just like being around each other,” Morris said.

The camels were an easy catch because they gave in to their temptations. When they stopped to eat the grass on the side of the road, they were taken back to church to finish off that paused scene.
