Restaurant Shut Down for Preparing Samosas in Toilet for Over 30 Years

An eatery in Jeddah, Saudia Arabia, was shut down after it was discovered they were preparing their scrumptious samosas in the toilet for over 30 years.

The Jeddah Municipality acted off a tip and raided the restaurant over the disgusting discovery. The business, actually located in a residential building, had been operating for more than 30 years. All the workers did not have health cards and were violators of residency laws.

It was discovered that the restaurant used to prepare all snacks and also meals in its washrooms. They were also using meat, chicken and cheese, some of which had expired over two years ago. Insects and rodents were spotted throughout the site.

Authorities say this isn’t the first time a restaurant has been shuttered over not following health codes in Jeddah. They have confiscated and destroyed more than a ton of food and food-related items from these businesses.

In January 2022, a famous Shawarma restaurant was closed because a rat was seen moving along the floor freely and even helping itself to a bite to eat of the meat skewer. The clip of the rat went viral across local social media, causing outroar across the general public. In response, authorities sealed the restaurant to ensure that wouldn’t happen again.
