Robbing One McDonald’s Isn’t Enough

McDonald’s is known for addicting fast food but apparently, it’s also a hotspot for one group of robbers. A duo has been connected to a string of robberies at McDonald’s restaurants across D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

Police were called to a McDonald’s in Kensington, Maryland, just after 2 a.m. one evening. Two suspects entered the drive-thru in a silver Chevrolet Cruze and ordered food. One of the suspects then got out of the car, walked over to the cashier’s window and pulled out a gun. The suspect told the cashier to leave before reaching through the window to grab the money from the drawer. After getting what they wanted, the pair fled the scene of the crime.

Less than 24 hours later, detectives spotted the same vehicle had appeared at a different McDonald’s drive-thru shortly before 1 a.m. Officers followed the car after it left the drive-thru before eventually pulling over the pair and arresting them.

According to police, Zachary Kinnell and Brian Elzey were both charged with armed robbery and other related charges.
