Seattle Named Dog Poop Capital of the United States

One of the worst things about being a dog owner is having to pick up their poop afterwards. Apparently, the people in Seattle aren’t doing it enough as they were named the dog poop capital of the United States in a recent study.

A study completed by the Dog Advisory Council analyzed Twitter data to find the cities where people complained the most about bad dog owners. Seattle, Washington, managed to top that list, averaging around 58.3 complaints per 100,000 people.

The cities that rounded out the top three were San Francisco, California, with 50.1 complaints per 100,000 people and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with 47.1 complaints.

Dog poop cleanup wasn’t the only thing that the study shared. The team also searched for complaints of people letting their dogs off leashes in public, barking dogs, and, of course, not picking up after their dogs.

The report revealed that Tucson, Arizona, was the home of the most considerate dog owners, whereas the worst-behaved dog owners in the country live in Pittsburgh. Seattle managed to come third for worst-behaved dogs, just behind Newark, New Jersey.
