Squirrel Hides in Family’s Christmas Tree

Decorating the Christmas tree is a tradition that most families continue as time goes on. When unexpected guests are included in the party, nothing can ever turn out well. A North Carolina family shared a video on Facebook of their Christmas tree being taken over by a squirrel that entered their home.

Taylor Stading, who posted multiple videos of the encounter online, said the squirrel apparently entered her family’s Waxhaw home through a loose roof shingle, climbed through a sink pipe opening and emerged in an upstairs bathroom. The family dog did chase the squirrel until it found a hiding spot in the Christmas tree.

In Stading’s videos, she tried to show off her attempts on getting the squirrel from the Christmas tree and outside. She managed to use a dust mop to give the animal an extra push down the tree and out of the window to return to its life in the wild.

Fortunately, Stading wasn’t alone in her attempts. Her children — Colton, 11, Savannah, 8 and Caroline, 8 — offered advice and some funny commentary while mom worked on successfully getting the squirrel out of the house.
