When swimming out in open waters, you really never know what you might find. A group of friends swimming at Englewood Beach in Florida found a pair of teeth sitting in the sand.
While this unusual discovery is quite strange, it’s anything but for the state of Florida. “Where else are you going to find a pair of teeth in the sand — in the ocean?” Jamie Murphy said.
Murphy was at Englewood Beach on Manasota Key on May 14, 2023, with a group of friends when one of them started diving below the water and looking around. That led to the “crown” jewel of the day.
“He came running up and he was like, ‘Look, look, look what I have.’ And I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh. What is that.’ And he’s like, ‘They’re teeth,'” Murphy said.
At some point, someone must have lost their dentures in the depths of the ocean. Instead of just tossing them into the trash, Murphy took them home with her with the hopes of finding who they might belong to.
She has already posted photos of the teeth on Facebook, hoping someone might step forward to claim them. Fortunately, she was given a huge clue as to who they might belong to: the owner’s last name was written on the bottom of the dentures.
Someone with the name Galicki might want to check out their post if they’re missing their teeth.
