Truck Carrying Fireworks Puts on a Show

With summer in full swing, several people are busting out fireworks to celebrate holidays and other special occasions. Numerous drivers were in for a fireworks surprise after a truck carrying thousands of pounds of fireworks went up in flames.

The truck caught fire in the late evening on Interstate 287 in Bridgewater, New Jersey. New Jersey State Police stated that the driver of the tractor-trailer pulled over around 10:30 p.m. when he apparently noticed the tire of a dolly he had on his trailer had caught on fire.

Drivers were stuck behind the accident for hours but least they were treated to a show for their troubles. Traffic was backed up for miles until the early hours of the morning when rush hour started.

Multiple people recorded cell phone footage that showed fireworks shooting out of the top of the truck. Definitely not something you see every day while driving.

Two lanes of the interstate were closed at Mile Marker 15.4 for the cleanup. The cause of the incident is still unknown at this time. There were also no injuries reported.
