If you’re a fan of slithering reptiles, this strange bed might just be perfect for you. For just $240, a bed listed on Facebook Marketplace with a built-in snake enclosure underneath the mattress could be yours.
The post was originally uploaded to a Facebook Marketplace page for Uckfield, a town in East Sussex, England. It eventually made it to a viral post in the satirical group Uninspiring Adverts. The post read: “Just what I’ve always wanted. To sleep on top of snakes,” with a picture of the horrifying bed.
The original advert was titled: “Double bed with snake enclosure underneath.” While not much of the actual bed can be seen, the snake enclosure is on full display in the picture. With Christmas coming up, this would be perfect for the snake-lover in your life.
Many people online were completely disturbed by the idea of sleeping directly above the reptile. One person wrote: “Hissing hell, that’s not my idea of a restful night.”
Another commented: “I serpently wouldn’t buy this.”
While this turned off many people, others were keener on the idea, claiming the bed is “a great space-saving idea.” A user added: “I mean…I’d buy that. Running out of room for my snakes”
