Warthog Runs Into Butcher Shop

A warthog almost ended up on the wrong side of a butcher shot’s counter when it made its way into the business uninvited. Employees at Camo Meat in Bela-Bela, South Africa, were shocked to discover a live warthog had invaded the business.

Stephen Nel, owner of Camo Meat, said that his workers were closing up the shop for the day when a warthog ran into the business. “The warthog went into the kitchen behind the building but could not seem to find his way out,” Nel said.

The Bela-Bela municipality’s fire brigade was called to the store to wrangle the warthog. The animal was taken to the Forever Resorts nature reserve.

No one exactly knows where the animal came from but many local residents suspected that the warthog may have come from the nature reserve in the first place. It’s a good thing that the store didn’t decide to make salami that day.
