As an animal lover, it may seem like a dream that someone gets to spend every day taking care of over 300 wolves. Although the job can be rewarding, it’s still a lot of work but someone has to do it.
Wang Nan has been fascinated by wolves ever since he was a child. When the 26-year-old was given the opportunity to take care of his favorite animal as an adult, there was no way he could pass it up.
In 2015, Nan started working at an animal rescue reserve in Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia, where he took care of injured wild wolves by feeding them, breeding them and slowly gaining their trust. Over the years, the pack of wolves has grown to an incredible 320 animals.
In a video that has gone viral since its release, Nan explained how he spends every day with the wolves and that they’ve become his most loyal friends. Even though many of the animals came to the wildlife rescue station as wild wolves, they’ve gradually learned to accept Nan as one of their own.
With family still comes a bit of pain. Nan admitted that he has received a number of injuries over the years trying to get closer to the animals. One of the more severe injuries — a bite — required 30 stitches. The wolf that bit him eventually allowed him to get closer and is now quite friendly to the man.
