Driving while drunk is never a good thing but it can be funny when the driver gets arrested for what they deserve. A New York woman was arrested for driving drunk in the parking lot of the Saugerties Police Headquarters.
Cinco De Mayo can have everyone celebrating, including Kari L. Becker who had a bit too much to drink. Shortly before 11:00 p.m. on May 5, 2023, the 27-year-old drove into the employee parking lot at the Saugerties Police Headquarters. She even parked near the employee entrance and proceeded to crank the music along with another individual.
As expected, the employee parking lot of a police station is a restricted area. An officer made their way over to the pair to check what they were doing, only to find that both parties were highly intoxicated.
After field sobriety tests were administered, Becker was arrested and brought into the police headquarters, charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) and processed. The woman agreed to a chemical breath test, which resulted in a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of 0.22 percent and an additional charge of aggravated DWI.
Becker told officers that she had been drinking margaritas all evening to celebrate Cinco De Mayo. She was released on tickets and is now due back in court on May 15, 2023.
