While eating a salad is a step in the right direction for one’s health, having to commit a crime to do so is a bit too far. A woman was arrested after being accused of breaking into a Georgia restaurant.
According to a warrant, Rome police in Floyd County, Georgia, were called to the Harvest Moon Cafe on May 20, 2023, at 1:55 a.m. They were alerted about a woman who had entered the store in the early hours of the morning.
Callie Elizabeth Thweatt was somehow able to get inside the restaurant after it had been closed and opened the food coolers. Apparently, the 23-year-old was a bit peckish as she rummaged around for ingredients to make a salad.
In the process, Thweatt touched several food items with her bare hands, rendering those ingredients no longer good to use. This ended up costing the business around $500 in stock.
Authorities did not specify what ingredients Thweatt put in her late-night salad. She was ultimately arrested and charged with theft by taking.
