Woman Who Ordered Star Decoration Receives T-Rex Instead

Nothing says happy holidays quite like a dinosaur toy. A woman was left confused after she ordered a star tree topper for her Christmas tree but received a two-foot-tall plastic T-rex instead.

Chloe Hewitt ordered an elegant Woodland Star Tree Topper from The Range but was surprised to have received the dinosaur toy in a strange delivery mix-up. The 25-year-old knew something was up when she noticed her 10-inch decoration came in a much bigger package than she was expecting.

“I spotted that one on The Range’s website and I thought ‘ooh I like the glitter on that, I’ll have it. Only £3.99, bargain.’ Then I got a knock on the door on Tuesday and I asked, ‘is this for me?'” she said.

Hewitt even made sure to double-check her order confirmation to ensure the mistake wasn’t on her end. Despite the store sending the wrong item, Hewitt’s dinosaur-mad daughter Skyler was more than happy with the switch, affectionately naming the toy Tree-Rex.

Instead of getting upset about the mistake, Hewitt decided to make the best out of the situation and put the dino on top of the tree. Even if a replacement star is found, the dinosaur will remain on top of the family’s tree.

“We put the tree up the day before and I’ve stuck him on a branch, he’s just balancing there. I’m under strict instructions not to move him. Skyler said that even if the star comes it’s not going on the tree, the dinosaur’s staying. Anything to keep her happy,” Hewitt said.

Since the mistake, a spokesperson for The Range came forward to confirm that the error was made in the company’s delivery service and that they have now sent Hewitt the correct tree topper. “We are so pleased Skylar received a surprise gift which made her day a bit more roar-some,” they said.
