Bakery Asks Customers to Check Cookies for Lost Diamond

A diamond in your cookies might just be the surprise you’re looking for. The owner of a Kansas bakery is asking customers to check their cookies after she lost the $4,000 diamond from her ring in the dough.

Dawn “Sis” Monroe, the owner of Sis Sweets Cookies & Café in Leavenworth, Kansas, said the diamond fell off the ring at some point while she was at the shop. Up until that point, the diamond had been on her finger for 36 years.

“We kinda went back to the kitchen and looked around,” Monroe said.

Monroe posted on Facebook about the incident and warned customers to check their cookies since she believed the stone might have fallen off while making the sweet treats.

“If you happened find it, I would forever be in debt if you would return it. It’s a marquis cut. I’m sorry if you find it but I don’t take my ring off for anything,” she wrote online.
